Greetings
Welcome to the Basic Seminar on Clinical Dialysis Therapy
It is my great pleasure to host international seminars on “chronic kidney disease and dialysis for doctors, medical workers and students” sponsored by the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy (JSDT). We belong to a subdivision of the JSDT called “Human Resource Development Program Committee for Dialysis Specialists in Developing Countries” and are in charge of the “Training Program for Dialysis Specialists in Japan,” which is an educational program for medical staff who are or expect to be involved in dialysis therapy. This program was designed and was implemented each year in hospitals in Japan, with several trainees invited from Asian countries before COVID-19. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced against our wishes to discontinue the program for the last three years; however, we were determined to hold international seminars online for those who seek to share our knowledge on CKD and skills in dialysis and related treatments.
All lecturers are members of the JSDT and are experts in their specific fields, such as CKD, clinical dialysis, water purification systems, dialysates, membranes, dialyzers, modalities of blood purification therapy, nutrition, medications, etc. This year, we designed three online seminars for Mongolia, Cambodia, and Vietnam; the curricula are well designed by the coordinators, and we expect that the participants will be able to learn from basic to more advanced concepts relevant to the subject from the lecturers and ask questions after each lecture. Moreover, participants attending all the lectures in each seminar are entitled to receive, upon request, a certificate of attendance from the JSDT, signed by the President of the JSDT.
I hope that all the participants will enjoy the programs on CKD as well as dialysis therapy and benefit from the sessions.
With best regards,
